"This cookie takes me back to Paris." Day 55

Willowy, astute Emily, the passionate macaron-maker.  This teenage baking prodigy introduced me to the infinitely variable French sandwich cookie at her family's annual New Year's Day party.  Her delicious work inspired me to visit Joanne Chang's how-to video and recipe at www.finecooking.com for clear and simple step-by-step guidance.  The result was  macarons with milk chocolate buttercream filling.  This cookie is fun to produce, ships well in cool weather, is gluten-free and delights everyone who samples it, including my boss who made the title comment.
